HackCamp Docker & Kubernetes
This training will provide you with the necessary knowledge to use both technologies. You will discover how to manage the Docker CLI and will understand the fundamental concepts and practices behind containerisation. You will gain an understanding of basic container orchestration using docker-compose and discover the advantages of using Docker together with Kubernetes. You will also learn how to scale and how to set combinations.

What is the required knowledge to join this workshop?
Some basic skills are needed to follow this course. Participants should have a basic linux command (Bash), some knowledge of networking (TCP/IP) and also be familiar with Node.JS.
Programme
Day 1: Docker
- Familiarisation with concept of container and Docker
- Use and control your docker container
- Build your Docker image
- Network and persistent storage with Docker
- Drive a set of container with Docker Compose
- Manage secrets in Docker
- CI/CD with Docker
Day 2: Kubernetes
- The origin, architecture, primary components, and building blocks of Kubernetes
- Set up and access a Kubernetes cluster using Minikube
About the teachers
Josué Motte (Open Source Engineer at Hackages)
Josué Motte is Hackages’ infrastructure specialist since 2018. With a background in Computer Science, Josué has worked in several multinationals such as Accenture, bringing his expertise on Network Administration, Monitoring and Automation tool amongst others.
Josué is an avid learner and traveller, and in his free time you can find him exploring with newest tool out there to help improving the company’s processes, or organising his next trip around the globe.
Nathan Boulet (Open Source Engineer at Hackages)
Nathan Boulet is your person when it comes to Docker, Linux and most recently IoT, the new technology he is immersed in both for professional reasons and as one of his hobbies.
Nathan has gained experience working for Accenture and is currently supporting IPC in their internal automatisation processes. Nathan is also co-leading the devOps training offer at Hackages and loves participating and giving workshops around topics like Docker and Kubernetes.
